Jewish Family Service Campus
Jewish Family Service Campus
Seattle, WA
Jewish Family Service of Seattle is a private, non-profit social service organization that serves members of the Jewish and broader community in the Puget Sound area. Over its 121-year history, the organization has exemplified the Hebrew phrase Tikkun Olam: repairing the world.
Weinstein A+U was charged with the renovation of the existing facility, including the creation of a new basement-level food bank. The firm also designed a new office building on an adjacent parking lot. The resulting campus promotes a healthier, more productive work environment for the staff and a more inviting environment for its clientele.
Above the lobby of the office building, two U-shaped floors contain hard-wall offices, open workstations, conference rooms, and flexible assembly spaces. Owing to the extensive perimeter, abundant daylighting is provided to all spaces.
A significant central courtyard at the second level of the new building complements the original building’s garden terraces. All contribute to a rich campus environment in an dense urban neighborhood.
